PRODUCTION WISE END OF LIFE

ProductionWise is reaching the end of its life on JUNE 30 2024

Here at agCOMMANDER we have written a data migrator to migrate all the ProductionWise cropping data to agCommander and we are offering that service for FREE to help ProductionWise clients out their bind.

Since mid-May 2024 we have successfully migrated a LOT of ProductionWise clients.

If you have a friend, colleague or family member who has been caught out by ProductionWise shutting down, PLEASE let them know we have a rescue plan for them. Tell them to go to this web page for more information https://www.agcommander.com/productionwise

WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING  Roger’s Ramblings

As you will see below, it has been a case of non-stop building new features into your software!

Apart from the list of newly added features detailed below, the following list of new “stuff” has also been added.

A New Language has been added to the list of languages “Hebrew”. Thanks to the team at https://zemach.co.il for doing that body of work.

A new version of agCommander for Right to Left languages (countries) like Hebrew (Israel). Please contact us if you need to know the URL (web site).

METLOG
A new application dedicated to displaying reports and charts of data from Weather Stations (including soil moisture probes, leaf wetness sensors, dendrometers etc) has been created called MetLog. We have strong demand for this product coming out of Central America thanks to our friends at Asesoría Agrícola Ambiental Americana in Costa Rica.
For more information visit https://www.agcommander.com/metlog

New and Improved Charts: In all charts generated from tabular reports and for all weather charts, there is a new and improved charting engine rendering the graphs.

Carbon Intensity Scoring features for USA & New Zealand row cropping clients. For New Zealand clients, a dedicated option has been built to create an export file of the Carbon Intensity data for exporting to the Overseer platform (https://www.overseer.org.nz)

Notification – INFOPEST SHUT DOWN
For Australian Clients: InfoPest have shut down the service of providing the Australian Chemical database, so we are no longer able to show chemical labels or MSDS PDF files. The columns have been removed from the screen, We will continue to update the full list of Australian registered chemicals and veterinary drugs every 28 days.
Meanwhile, we are having a meeting in coming weeks with another potential provider of label and MSDS files.

Finally I would like to wish you all the best for the rest 2024. I thank all those who have joined us since the last newsletter (especially all of you from New Zealand) and also thank all those who have provided feedback to help us to continue to improve our software.

Best Wishes

NEW FEATURES in agCOMMANDER

As usual, there have been many minor and some very major enhancements to agCommander in the past 4-5 months. All fixes and features are published in the program on the Information or About screen. The following is a list of the more substantial features added this year since February.

CROPPING MODULE FEATURES

  • Season Summary View: Machinery Costs Summary: Click on the Machinery label on the Season Summary Costs table to see a breakdown of machinery costs by operation category. The same machinery cost breakdown can be seen on the Season Summary Report
  • Budgeting: You can now convert all budgeted jobs for a period to work orders with one click (from the Diary View)
  • Diary View. The Details listing now shows the total cost of all jobs for a day in a summary band at the bottom of the screen.
  • Recommendations: Repeat Recommendations and Export Multiple Recommendations options are now on the Tools menu on the Pending Recommendations tab
  • Consumables Reporting When generating any consumable type reports where costs are displayed, you have the option of using Default Costs (or Standard Costs) or Inventory Costs. The Inventory Costs option uses the Weighted Average Inventory Purchase price of an item between the start and end dates of the report. That is, it takes into account the cost and purchased quantities to arrive at the weighted average cost. PLEASE NOTE: The Weighted Average Inventory Purchase price of an item will be used regardless if you are tracking inventory or just using the Inventory system to record purchases and regardless if you are updating the default input costs or not when recording a purchase.
  • Budget vs Actuals: The Budget vs Actuals Consumables Report now has a “Totals for Season to Date” option
  • Converting Work Orders: There is now a Diary View Tools Menu option enabling you to convert multiple work orders for a day.
  • A Feature Request to Use Inventory Purchase prices in all financial reporting. This will only work when you are Tracking Inventory AND Tracking by Batch Number. There is a new option in the Cropping Module to enable this feature. The default setting is to run the reports using the Default or Standard Costs
  • General Overheads Costs: There is now a new option when generating Seasonal Area Financial Reports to spread your Business Overheads on a uniform per / area basis as “Other Costs”
  • The Cotton Ginning Results screen has had a total overhaul and is now more usable when entering results from a ginning report.

LIVESTOCK MODULE FEATURES

  • The Stock Movement Advice report now exports in a nicely formatted PDF file format
  • With Individual Animals enabled: You can now choose the individual animals treated or fed when recording those event types on stock classes. There is a new option that needs to be ticked to enable this functionality
  • Individual Animal Records: Added a newly requested ‘quickly set’ option when adding/editing a pregnancy test record
  • New icons have been added to indicate the mob/herd type operations that allow the selection of individual animals
  • The Reconciliation Reports > Negative Tally Details report – highlight transactions that caused negative tallies
  • Individual Animal Records: Added “quickly set” option to pregnancy test and mating transactions to quickly set values
  • In Livestock and Individual Animals: Added support for selecting individual animals involved in mob pregnancy tests and production records

ASSET MANAGER PRO MODULE FEATURES

  • Filtering By AssetType is now available on the Asset listing
  • The Next Service Date for any past service record is now shown as a column in the services listing

NEW WEATHER FEATURES

  • Metos Weather Stations: We now chart data from all sensors connected to METOS weather stations including Soil Moisture sensors
  • Vapour Pressure Deficit: The daily environmental list & chart now shows maximum vapour pressure deficit
  • All weather charts have had a total overhaul using a new charting system. They can also all now be saved as an image with a button in the top right corner of the chart panel.

NEW SYSTEM SETUP FEATURES

  • New Users can now set up their Farms and Fields and Field Maps by importing a SHP (e.g. a John Deere Operation Center export), KML or GeoJSON FIle (There needs to be a Farm and Field attribute on the incoming data for this to work)
  • Non-Current fields are now hidden by default and the option at the bottom of the Farm-Field tree is now set to “Show Non-Current” rather than “Hide Non-Current”
  • In Staff Setup: There is now a checkbox to nominate a staff member as Casual Labour. When generating the Labour Usage report there is a new “Is Casual” column and when adding jobs a casual staff member can be identified by the postfix “[CAS]” after their name.

NEW Nutrisens or IrriSense FEATURES

The Nutrisens Module was named such due to the functionality in that module to do with the Nutrisens Methodology. We have decided to release all the features of that module that are not involved in the Nutrisens Methodology under the name of IrriSense.

  • Here is a list of features added since February:
We can now interface with Lattech Loggers for any sensor data that may be available on those loggers
  • Dendrometer chart lines now auto scales on the “Daily Tracker” chart
The Daily Tracker chart Soil Moisture Y Axis now auto scales to a maximum of 5 percent above the Field Capacity line
  • We now have support for Progres Loggers.
  • The Scouting Map Report showing a heat map style report – there is now an option to reverse the colours displayed
  • The Weather Forecast data can now use “Intelligent” AI-ML-data uploaded from your on-farm weather stations to the weather forecast data system to make the forecasts way more accurate and relevant to your local microclimate.
